Private forest memory for iPhone

Your forest remembers.

4est turns the places, observations and mushroom finds from your walks into a private memory you can actually use the next time you go out.

UI CONCEPT · REPLACEABLE

Memory → location → time → return

A few seconds today. Useful context next season.

4est is designed around what you already do in the forest: notice something, remember the place, come back when the conditions feel right.

01

Capture

Log an observation quickly while you are still in the forest. Add the detail now—or refine it later.

02

Remember

Your own history becomes organized around place, date, photos and the context that mattered.

03

Return smarter

Look back at what happened before and choose where your next walk is worth taking.

Mushrooms among green moss in a forest

Built around your history

Not another map full of everyone else’s pins.

The useful part is personal: the birch edge that produced once, the trench you named yourself, the patch you only remember when you see an old photo. 4est is for keeping that memory intact.

Private by design — your mushroom locations are not a public social feed.

A field tool that gets better with history

Less admin. More useful memory.

The product is evolving, but its direction stays simple: fast capture outside, calm understanding afterward.

01

Quick capture

Photo-first, low-friction logging so the app does not become the reason you stop walking.

02

Personal forest map

Observations and meaningful places build into a private spatial memory over time.

03

Mushroom history

Remember what you found, where it happened and when—without relying on scattered photos.

04
In development

Tomorrow

A practical decision-support view that combines your previous observations with environmental context for the next trip.

05

Named spots

Save the places only you understand: a productive patch, a trench, a bend, a trail junction.

06

Independent languages

Use the interface in one language and mushroom/content information in another. Scientific names stay available.

07

Local-first

Ordinary interaction is designed to remain fast and useful when the forest has poor or no connectivity.

08
Later

Richer recognition

Future intelligence may help interpret photos, but 4est does not promise mushroom identification or edibility decisions.

Tomorrow

Your next walk starts with what your forest already taught you.

Past observations, location history and environmental context can become a focused view of places that may deserve another look—not a promise of what you will find.

Decision support, not a mushroom forecast.

Private places deserve careful defaults

Cloud backup without turning your forest into public data.

4est is local-first. When you use an account, supported history and private photos can be backed up and synchronized so your data is not tied to one phone.

  • Private forest locations are never published as a public social map.
  • Backed-up photos remain private to your account.
  • Deleting your account deletes its cloud photos and user-linked history.

Language without compromise

The app can speak differently from your mushroom guide.

Inside 4est, interface language and mushroom/content language are separate preferences, because the language you use on your phone is not always the language you use in the forest.

Make the walk count twice

The next great mushroom spot might already be in your history.

Keep the details that normally fade between one forest walk and the next.
